Love & Hip Hop - what a show - Bye bye X Factor

So I've given up on watching X Factor aka the search for SyCo's new bitch and found a new series. Love and Hip series one. OMG! So much drama going down. I was thinking of doing a write up for each episode because it is just so fabulous. Right now I'm loving Chrissy Lampkin, Mama Nancy Jones and Emily. Those are my favourite. I love love Samaya. I think both Chrissy and Samaya have more in common than the others.

I think if not for the situation both Samaya and Chrissy would be friends because there is sort of honesty about those two that come accross. They don't take any rubbish or nonsense of anyone.

I love Nancy Jones (Jim Jone's Mama) because she knows how to work walk out of a  situation before it turns nasty. She gets provoked up to a certain point and then leaves. And even though she is a primadonna, drama queen and can extremely childish - she more often than not has a point. We know she is unpredictable and probably the sort of person you'll avoid but she speaks the truth and has self respect. She has dignity. Enough that when the situation is getting out of hand in a public arena she walks away. She is not going to hand her hang too much of her dirty linen in public.

Emily. Well I'm not sure it looks like she has botox in some shows. Then at the reunion she had her chest all hanging out. I felt like saying 'Honey you need to pull that top up and those bobos away.' She comes over very insecure at times.

Mashonda - ya'll let forclosure on your house? I just wonder how these couples hand handle their money.

Olivia - hmmm... I'm not too sure. She has the complete package but I think her mouth and personality may have played a part in her not getting far. It wasn't even the shows but the reunion that showed her up. And I thought if that is how you treat people Olivia I can see why you are where you are today'. As I said Olivia is the complete package till she starts acting up. Complete in that she has everything going for her - the look (she is beauitful), body and voice.

However and but. This is the big BUT none of those things stand on their own. Her voice does not stand out on it's own. There are plenty of girls who can sing like that and better. She is beautiful but doesn't really have a big stage presence to compenstate for other things. However together those units make it into a package. Now if she is nasty to others - she does not have enough TALENT to ride it. Nor has she taken all this time out to polish her voice to another level. She is still singing common hooks.  Her songs though meaningful to her they  are generic with common and predicable lyrics, rythmes and the chord progressions are a 'cut and paste' job.

She slags off/insults Samaya's game but she is really no better probably even worse off because Samaya has a presence due to her height. Samaya is trying to get recognised she hasn't been dropped from labels and living off past glory. J Records, G Unit etc are history for Olivia. She is now in the same space technically as Samaya.  Looking for a deal or waiting to make a record.

X Factor: The search for SyCo's new bitch. The Twist to Zero Factor

OMG! The sing off had two of the best singers in the competition and all the rubbish tatt got saved. Sammi and Kitty it was so painful to watch that I'm signing off my X Factor hat. Seriously how can two of the best singers be in the bottom and Frankie get through.

Good for Misha B though. However Sammi is better than most. And Kitty is simply the business. She was the better singer by far but it was unfair.

I think I'm switching to Strictly because X Factor is just too much to bear. Too much that singers who sing out of tune, break and drop note sail through. It's becoming the Z Factor for those with Zero singing ability. Yes I'm miffed but then it does free up my saturday evenings. It means I can go to the pub now on a Saturday Night like normal people who have a life.

Will miss Louie Walsh he is my favourite judge. He is soooooo showbiz. He knows how to play the game. Even to the point of appologising to Misha however don't forget people he got his point through.

X Factor - The search of SyCo's New Bitch. Saga of the Bully takes over

OMG! X Factor was car crash TV. The rock night was a complete and utter disaster that I nearly switched off. It was wrong, wrong, wrong. And the judges were a disgrace apart from Louie. I even turned over to Strictly but that had finished. Then I watched a bit of Merlin but finally decided to see X Factor through.

The the 'B' word came up. BULLY. Not sure what is going on but it's a definite tatical however there is no smoke without fire. So now Misha B is being accused of being a bully. Well, well, well nothing is more hated in UK than a bully. So not really sure what is going to happen. Good luck to her and I hope it dies down.

Kelly's girls managed to turn ROCK songs into R&B songs. So many R& B licks, runs and riffs in all the girls' songs. Sophie turned Living Like a Prayer into a R&B song and all the others did the same.

Louie's acts delivered.

    * Frankie Cocozza
 Frankie was a walking disaster and still can't sing! At least Kelly Rowland was honest - he need to bring it vocally - THAT MEANS SING! You can the swagger, the attitude but a singer needs to SING. Not sure how he will be able to go through. That blow dry and skinny jeans are just annoying. Singing ability - zero!

    *Craig Colton

Not sure if the judges are hearing what I'm hearing. The guy is always out of tune. It maybe the song but please brother you need to up your game. Sing something where you don't need to belt or scream because it comes out broken and croaky. Your notes break up and it seems like you have lost your voice or something. Not sure, still not sure.

    * Marcus Collins
Medicore.  Same here I must be missing something because I'm not hearing what the judges seem to be hearing. Also boring.

The Overs

    * Kitty Brucknell
Brillant - gives the money worth. Kitty knows why she is in the game. It's probably to up her career as an entertainer and get better exposure. She doesn't care if she wins but she wants to go far enough to make it pay. She has all the tools but just needs a break - something of a push to help her along. Loving her! She is using X Factor as ride to fame. Now we can probably say X Factor is Kitty's bitch!

    * Johnny Robinson
Wow, the guy can sing. Same as Kitty. He is using it as a platform to a better performing career. It's about getting exposure to do better quality gigs and MCing.

    * Sami Brookes
Good voice and she probably the only 'over'  that wants to win. She is good but can't win.

Can't be bothered to write more but do watch ITV so we can see where the Bully saga goes and who gets kick off.

X Factor - the search for SyCo's new bytch. Nu Vibe Go!

It's started - the votes and it left an nasty taste in my mouth. Frankie gave a rubbish vocal but stayed. However Nu Vibe should have known if up against a 'favorite' in this case over blow-dried Frankie they needed to kill the vocal. They did not. It was good but not good enough to be a clear clear choice.

Both had nondescript boring performances. Frankie may be cute but he can't sing. AT ALL. As for Nu Vibe - well boys your vocals were better but not tight enough to have a clear chance or overturning the X-FACTOR machine.

X Factor Machine Logic

There need be only one band of each sex in the competition. A boy band and a girl band is enough othewise it gets too messy. Frankie has just being saved for another day. Not sure. I feel bad. I feel it was a false one. I feel Nu Vibe should have stayed. But it's TV. Only TV. Compelling TV and tommorrow I'd forgotten about it.

Good luck, Nu Vibe.  I hope you stay together.

Tax for Tits - Taxing comestic surgery.

Well, it seems that that TAX man has decided it's time to tax those who what a new pair of breasts, grastic band or a new neat Varjaja!

If they can tax santitary products why not?  I 'don't see why people shouldn't pay tax on non-medical procedures.  It is a fast growing industry with lots of people doing it. Too many plastic sugeons are driving around in Rolls Royces and Bentleys. So it adds on a 20% to the your bill but can you really put a price on happiness and self esteem?
Daily mail article

For all those who say it will drive the trade aboard well a lot of people already go there.When these people mean aboard they mean some back water clinic. More than often it's okay - it's for those with pre-existing medicaltion conditions or who may need a little more expertise. To be fair the reputable clinics aboard will be probably the same price all over the world. Also plastic surgery isn't extactly heart or brain surgery. In most cases int's making an incisison in the skin and adding something. Or maybe just pumping out some fat. At some point thought I think it's changed anyone could be a plastic surgeonry. It wasn't recognised as a specialty in medicine. I mean common a lot of people do thieir down botox in surgery. If given the lipo-suction equpiment I think they do that too.

Going aboard does increase risks. I mean lots of Americans go to dodgy Mexican Surgeries to get it on the cheap. The also fly out the Brazil if they get rejected by those in the states. If you want to get major surgery on the cheap from some dodgy clinic aboard who is more likely to mess you up for good just to save 20% on what could be a life thing then do it's your call. It's all about choice.

People are arguing that lots of people will go aboard, have botched jobs and then come back and have it done on the NHS again. Well, what they forget there is a risk factor there. It's not that easy to come out with blind statements. Most feel insecure about their bodies because it's in comparsion with something else be it an airbrushed picture in a magazine or some hot chick or bloke on the street.

You can not insure against foolery. If you are going to have surgery research it properly - don't blindly trust in the white coat and clinical atmosphere. Don't trust blindly because the person is a doctor. So whether aboard or in the UK do your research - it is your body and ultimately your life!

X Factor aka Who will be SyCo's new Bytch?

I love the programme. It doesn't matter who is judging I just love me some X Factor. Cheryl Cole or no Cheryl Cole. Simon Cowell or no Simon Cowell I just love the format. It's for those desparately seeking fame at all costs. GREAT TV!

I hear the same old blah blah blah about how it's a chance but it's also GREAT TV. It's not talent show it's just a huge two hour extravaganza which makes prats of people. They sing and are paraded like performing monkeys in front of an audience and we are asked to contribute and subsidize this debacle by voting for our favorates. Briilant. Sometime we vote for who like or sometimes it gets really tatical. The media and everyone from the office, job centre and school play ground - lets not forget the pub get in on the act. We all become talent judges and critcal. GREAT TV. Then towards the end is the fight for Christmas Number One.  It's also a family show because it's something in which the entire family will have an opinion on. Great stuff. Love it or hate it - X Factor is great view. The bitching between the judges to the gullible contestants who never seemed to asked themselves if they were so talented how come they needed a TV show to get fame.  So they trade their dignity and self-respect to either gain favour with millions or be humilated. Right now people are still getting deals without riding on the XFactor wave.

After the auditions come the live shows and that's where the going gets tough. It's a brilliant piece of entertainment and the best thing on TV. And No I don't watch Strictly Dancing. It's not my thing.

Anyway I digress the live shows are where the judges play sycophantic (brown nosing) droning fans to contestants and tell them how brilliant they are. They too for some reason apart from the really old and mature ones lap it up. The tell them how brilliant they are, my favourite is Louie Walsh who goes on about 'You are born to be on this stage! You are a recording artist.' Okay. Louie is brilliant, old school and a dapper at this bullsh*t - he had being doing it for many years. The others from time to time have to look down - maybe at a script which may show it's not all original.

Tulisa is like 'You are my guilty pleasure. You may not be everyone's cup of tea but you are my cup of tea.' Not too sure I can do Kelly because she justs drawls in Texas. Gary Barlow is just Gary off Take That to me.

Regardless of the contestants, regardless of the winners, each year  X Factor rolls up and I love it! My guilty winter pleasure.  It's great entertaiment and good programming. Note to all contestants - there are two types of winners on X Factors.  Those who win the show and those who get record contracts and win a career. It's nice to be both but better to be in the latter group.

What I love about the show
When they want people to be voted off the show they just give them songs they can't handle or fudge up arrangements so the live show night they look stupid.

Highlights

Misha - the public does not get your style. They should just dress her like a normal lady and not like a fruitcake. Okay it is stylish but only if they you have the limbs of ether Alex Wek or Naomi Campbell. It was all Grace Jones get up - who is also tall and graceful. Just because it screams style does not mean it suits you.
Vocally - she was brillant but however the song was rearranged for her range and voice. It will be interesting if they ever decided to give her a bad song. If they do - she should pull a Cher Loyd. I respect that chick. No one was going to mess her up!

Jenny Delvin. - she just sounds like every other Celtic folk vocalist. I did like her vocals this time around.

Frankie - you got tripped up boy! Even Louie was right there. That was a rubbish delivery.

The London Girl who fades from memory even though was on second to the last. You got stitched up ont the arrangements. There should have instruments supporting your bridge.  She gave a good perforamance but I can't seem to remember her name.

Kitty - well what can I say? Not really sure.

Wow!

Matt Candle: Letters

from BBC website
So 2011 2010 X factor winner Matt Candle is going into overdrive with comments about his crediblity and slagging off other stuff. I've listened to the album or rather samples from his website.

My favourite song was Walking on Water. As all the others including Gary Barlow's Run for your Life are genric boring copy and paste unorginal  chord progessions. Even the melody are unorginal however they are catchy. Boring very boring stuff. However this will not keep his fan from buying it.

Check out this review from the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/reviews/dvpn

The problem with all this, is most it seem Mr Gary Barlow is getting a fair bit of credit for writing the song Run For Your Life. To be fair our Gary has penned better songs than this unorignal Run For Your Life busines. May Mr Barlow was feeling a bit lazy but seriously Gary, I know it's catchy and good for radio play however at time of writing it is now number 11 in itunes download chart.

Then again I don't like Matt's image or how he is protrayed. I have to say that because I don't know personally. He slags off a contest he wins just be credible and prove his so called 'real musicianship'. WTF! Makes a shit album still protesting to be a real artist who writes his own material.  Big Deal - you still went on X Factor.  Not sure, I get you dude. You just wanted to be famous and in the charts. You got your wish, dude, but as you can see everything comes as price because no matter what you say you are still SyCo's bitch so you better don't drop that Musical Soap.

New eating plan

Got a new eating plan. Simple to understand. I need to eat when I'm hungry and stop when I'm full. Not as easy as it seems. Mainly because I eat with my eyes and sense of smell. I never listen to what my stomach says. Oh well. Just have to tune into my body's natural pattern. I can't remember the last time I eat because I was hungry. It's mainly just habit or desire or bordom.

Saturday 1 October 2011

OMG! Shawn Carter ala Jay-z is not as street as he would like to be.

Yeah, I know he was brought up in the projects and I know he was a 'huslter' but some of that is image.  I'm talking about his values, ethic and family background.

Okay so he was brought up in a housing project in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn in New York City accoring to Wikipedia but and a big but that doesn't mean anything! It might put in a  'financial class' as in rich vs poor but not the 'class' system which has more to do with privilage, life choices and background.

Sometimes family find themselves in situations where they need to be in affordable housing. Where you live and your surroundings don't necessary reveal who they are. An image based on that implication may sell records becuase the truth may not.

It appears regardless of the 'my daddy walked out when I was 12' story which happens across all walks of life Carter - Jay-Z and a very stable and solid life that allowed him to pursue his dreams. He had good support in his  immediate family.

What makes he say he has middle class values - well look at his choice of friends, who he hung out with in the beginning Damon Dash is hardly the local corner boy, the activities he pushed himself into to get better - really just the equal of after school activities like football, learning a craft or an instrument. Also his laid back approach in dealing with situations - seems that ease to deal with things runs in the family.

Jay-Z/Shawn  Carter may imply he was of the streets but he certainly wasn't brought up on the streets. But how do I know this well it's the appearance of his mother and two sisters at the carnival. They all had a confidence that allowed them stay in the background and allowed Carter the attention on his big day. Anyway a credit to Ms Carter she seems to have a family who have done her proud. They also seem to keep their brother grounded in some ways. Just ordinary middle-class folk who grew up in the projects and I think there must be plenty of middle class families who live there.

Anyway his mother and two sisters just looked so middle Black America. Just so middle class in the quiet confidence and casual laidback - not trying too hard with the music/media people at the event.

The case of $95 million, Mel Tucker, Willy Bo-bo and inappropriate sexual conducts on the telephone.

Mel, Mel, Mel. It's tough. Mr Tucker. I discussed this case with someone and it's shame. It's a shame that it came to that. List...
