Growing Up Hip Hop - Atlanta Episode 3 - Brandon's Lil Wayne Driving the show and making him relevant; Ayana's commitment-phobe lover hits ATL and refuses to commit to even the word 'girl friend', Executive Producer Bow Wow hits the strip clubs for inspiration; Atlanta Peace Maker Shaniah arranges a girl's night out bowling.

Hello Fellow Reality Show watchers,

This show seems to be based on one throw away comment 'I work with someone who could have helped your father's (lil Wayne's) career'.  Okay Brandon was foolish but why all this fuss about an irrelevant comment from a wannabe. Yes, it's disrespect but we should all be focusing why are giving this man attention. Like everyone ask WHO IS HE? WHO IS BRANDON BARNES? But since he's part of the show, I guess we'll just roll with it.

Brandon Barnes aka the Man Who Could Have Helped Lil Wayne's Career.

Why do we care what this wannabe has to say about one of most popular rappers in Hop Hop? And if   Lil Wayne's Princess Reginae was older, wiser and NOT in HIGH SCHOOL she wouldn't care one bit. Chile, she is only 17 (18 at the time writing this blog). She is immature and has taken this to heart not knowing that Brandon is irrelevant, what he has to say is irrelevant and because of all her  fuss he now has a story line.

So of course he's not going to appologise. If he apologises he becomes irrelevant again. Right now his only claim to fame is he is the man who told 'Lil Wayne's daughter - I could have helped your father's career.

Zonnique reveals how irrelevant Brandon 'I-could-have-helped lil-Wayne's-Career' Barnes is.

So Zonnique and Lil Wayne-Coulda-Career-Helper Brandon Barnes meet up in the cafe, and he is saying he won't apologise for what he said.

Then he starts going in on Zonnique saying she was dressed like a hooker at the photoshoot. You can't tell a young lady at 21, that you know that she is dressed like a prostitute - he could phrased it a different way. He has no considerations for people's feelings... I guess he's trying to be tough but there are other ways.

In the second scene Zonnique goes to his house, and this time Brandon really goes in on her about her attitude.   It's a bit like groundhog day for her with his going over and over the same stuff.

He pushed Zonnie to the limit and to the point where she had to put him in his place and say - listen Brandon you are just my vocal coach, and the person I really want to work with is your MOTHER. For the first time,  Mr Brandon 'I could have helped Lil Wayne's Career' Barnes shuts up with nothing to say.

But let's be real about this, if Zonnique was really serious about being a musician/singer her parents have enough sway in the industry to give her an opportunity. Not make her  A STAR but at least give her an opportunity. However she would also have no time to be appearing on reality shows as she'd be too busy on the road supporting bigger acts, trying to make her name. Reality shows are easy compared to that.

Brandon's comment still having effects at the Turkey Drive In

I'm not sure why Toya went down the Turkey Drive in to have a word with Debra about her son.

Away from the the drama of the show, I thought couldn't she just call Brandon and find out what he had to say for himself? Brandon isn't a kid, he's not 16 years old. He's a 26 year old man,  grown. She could called him, and asked why he treated Reginae in the manner and so explain himself.

Yes, it's about Moms  sorting it out - but Debra Antey is a different level sort of motherhood - big momma. Her children are grown. It seems like a lot of hassle for nothing.

Okay she said she went down because someone came at her child. It's not like Brandon tried to attack Reginae - at least not physically.  Then again is wasn't like Reginae was sitting quietly in a corner minding her own business and Brandon picked on her on. No, Reginae's slick mouth was also shooting some verbal bullets.   No one gets away with insulting someone the way she did Brandon. It's asking for trouble.

Away from the show what gives a 17 year old rich privileged  kid the right to asked anyone who the heck they are. So it is what it is - even if I contradict myself.

Even if Toya is beefing about the Lil Wayne comment, I doubt he ex-husband would care. Also Toya has since remarried to alleged  K-Michell-beater Memphitz Wright - currently separated. What does she care about what folks say about Lil Wayne?

Drama about nothing - she needs to sit down and talk to her daughter about her conduct. Lil Wayne's Princess Reginae is getting older and needs to learn it's not always about picking fights with grown folks then crying home to mama.

Anyway it will be interesting to see how this turkey drive in with Debra Antey turns out. Maybe Brandon mans up and talks to the ladies instead leaving it to his mother?

He is a 26 year old man after all, his mother can't fight all his battles for him otherwise is he's a 26 year old Reginae Carter type person. However we need to see how this turkey drive in ends.

Back to the Show with non-Brandon related drama.

There wasn't much to report on to be fair this show seems to ride on Brandon's comments to Reginae. Anyway these are my takeaways....

Executive Producer Bow Wow Hits the Strip Club

Bow Wow is the executive producer and star of this show - he gets top billing, like this name comes up first in the line-up, then its Jermaine Dupri. So we know Bow Wow is only going to be seen in a good light  but but and huge but...these cameras can mess someone up.

So Bow Wow has invested some coins in this show, hoping to make a good return, put his name back on the street that he's making a come back. Does he take it seriously? Nah. When  Jermaine Dupri asks Bow Wow to hit the studio, the young man decides he needs some inspiration from the Strip Club.

He goes to the strip club and ends up turning up for his studio appointment with Jermaine Dupri TWO HOURS LATE and DRUNK. He is so drunk, his eyes are red, and he's like all 'yeah, yeah, yeah' but he can barely rap. Then he goes into the confessional all blood-shot eyes, drunk and talking some rubbish. I'm like this man serious? Is that your work ethic? Is this show just a toy to you?

So it's a whole studio segment wasted because Boss man Bow Wow turned up drunk to work.

In the morning, he seemed hungover but goodness knows if it was shot in sequence and not any random morning.  Bow Wow leaves the shower with his puny body. He is a bit on the thin side, looking like a teenager - anyway and gets a few calls. Mostly about Brandon said about Lil Wayne.  He isn't impressed about the whole thing.

At some point he gets all his mentors together for a Chinese meal to tell him what he knows. However all I can say the Snoop Dogg puts it in perspective for Bow Wow. "You are good, but you need to be great."

Bow Wow is good. Most people are good at what they do. But what does it take to be GREAT? I'll leave you with that executive producer thought....

Ayana gets busy with Lover

Ayana's lover relocates from New York to Atlanta, and Ayana is explaining their situation. It's a long distance relationship blah blah blah. So boring yawn, yawn, yawn. She seems the possessive type, and throw in her anger issues - that is explosive.   I must point out she had been for ANGER MANAGEMENT CLASSES so let's hope that works.

Anyway we get to meet her lover. Now I call her lover who seems a bit of a  player. Why?  The woman doesn't want to commit to being a couple with Ayana for whatever reason. There doesn't seem to be any chemistry between them, but who knows?

The Girls - Shaniah, Reginae Carter, Ayana and Zonnique go bowling

Shaniah, daughter of the show's second executive producer  music consultant Jermaine Dupri is setting herself up as peace-maker, so I take because her daddy is the show's executive producer  music consultant is going to be the Shaunie O'Neal of the show. The peace-maker.  So she invites Ayana, Zonnique and Reginae for a girl's night out. Hmmm.... She wants everyone to get along. Okay.

So Zonnie drags out Princess Reginae of the  House of Carter. What do I think about Reginae? Well, I think overall she's a good kid, and hasn't really done anything to shame her parents. You don't hear much about her in the press.

As a person on the show?  She was extremely rude to Brandon and there was no reason for that, so it would be wise of her parents had a word with her about that. Other than that she's a little princess and madam who is used to getting her own way, protective of her family and friends, and seems to keep grudges. As a spoilt kid, she still has a lot of growing up to do.  Half of the time, I'm just laughing at her immaturity.

Anyway the girls go bowling and Reginae tells Zonnique that she's wasn't trying to be funny about Brandon but she didn't know who he was.

It's hard to say who is to blame...Brandon for laying into Reginae or Reginae being rude. They both engaged and it got dirty.

Zonnique tells Reginae to be calm because they both were wrong, but you know with Madam Reginae, it goes into one ear and out of the other.  Reginae is annoyed her father was bought up. Who cares? I'm sure others have said worse to her about Lil Wayne.

Anyway Atlanta Peace Maker Shaniah walks in with Ayana...Zonnique senses trouble and Reginae is not impressed.

Ayana Gives Lil Madam Princess Reginae- The Mother & Daughter Talk That Toya Should Have.

They have a conversation about the photoshoot. Ayana said she would have stepped in and beaten her because she doesn't like attacking her family like that.  However Ayana being the sensible older, a motherly in a way,  tries to explain and advise  Reginae that she can't just confront men or people in general like that. There are a lot of people that if she did that too they would attack her. It's fair enough her calling her mother to deal or handle a situation but by that time it would be too late. Reginae needs to learn to control her attitude.

This is conversation Toya should be having with Reginae, that she can't shoot off her slick mouth and got tattling to her mother when things don't go like she expected.

However  Princess Reginae is not listening and had decided she doesn't like Ayana purely on the basis that Ayana is Brandon's cousin. It's so silly, so high school, so childish. BUT let us not FORGET Princess Reginae is all those things. She is a child, still in high school and immature.  There is no point trying to talk sense into her.

On the other hand, I also don't understand why Ayana would fight anyone on behalf of a grown man?

To be honest I can't remember anything else.

So will be catching up on the next episode soon - probably all about Brandon comments...I hope not.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading.

Growing Up Hip Hop - Atlanta Episode 2 - Bow Wow makes decisions & sorts out Babymomma issues; 26 year old 'wannabe Big Man' Brandon brings negative energy to the Zonniques photo shoot and bullies 17 year old Reginae Carter and disrespects Lil Wayne; Anaya nearly explodes; Reginae Carter tattling to Mommy Toya to handle Brandon

Hello fellow reality show watchers!

What is its about Alanta reality shows? What the heck do they put in the water down there that the franchises of these reality shows just BLOW UP!

So I did a quick catch up on Episode 2, and it's REALLY  MESSY.  Like for no reason at all. For REAL!

Reginae Carter look-a-like Ayana and cousin of Brandon goes to bank of Dad.

okay, I’m bored…who is she again? She looks exactly like Reginae Carter. She goes to bank of Dad for investment. CEO of Bank of Dad asks her for a business plan. So he should.  Whatever, I'm not interested.

BOW WOW WANTING A CHEQUE/CHECK STORY LINE

I'm clearing Bow Wow's story line first before I get to the juicy bit. We all know Bow Wow is doing this to get paid and hopefully build up a new fanbase for his records or make a comeback. Based on past reality shows stars - Stevie J, Olivia, Ray J, Selena Johnson, Chatelle Moore, Kelly Price, I'm not sure come-backs this way work. Just me.  But let's not be a DOUBTER, it may work for Bow Wow. He may be that except to the RULE.

Gangsta Hoodies vs Bow Wow

The situation at the club escalated into a big NOTHING. But Bow Wow was acting all big saying his ex-friends and associates had guns, and his security had guns so it could get serious real quick. Everyone is looking, watching, grabbing and on point. Shoot out.  Luckily it didn't go down that way. But apparently that's how they roll in A-Town.

So he had a quick one-to-one chat with Auntie Da Brat. She asks the situation, and Bow Wow was like he was close to this ex-friends but everyone chose their way in life and it is what it is. Auntie Brat, is like yes, she understands but everyone can't be number one. And jealousy can overcome those who don't get it. A lot of people are jealous of Bow Wow...which is true.

Let be real and honest. He is a talented young man with his whole life ahead of him. He is a good actor, comes over likeable, and he's headlining this show. Don't get it twisted. This blog is for ENTERTAINMENT but the real private Shad Moss, has plenty to be proud of.

Back to the story....So Bow Wow is just nodding saying that's why he left Atlanta. He just wants to go home, safety. The streets of Atlanta are too dangerous for him because of the crowd he used to run with. Turns out he and this cat he used to run with were real close, to the point Bow Wow helped out when the dude was on lock down...jail But for some reason the dude seems to think Bow Wow owes him.

Life is hard.

Anyway Bow Wow flies  to LA.

Next Bow Wow is walking down a street holding gas station flowers, withering pink roses, cheap. I guess he’s in LA now with his cute daughter. Having some quality time. The whole reason he is doing this show.

Bow Wow is like he wants to talk to Joy about taking their relationship to another level. I'm like Bow Wow is not serious. How can we take him seriously?

He practically wants to wife this woman but with NO RING. Please bro, sit down, unless you are proposing to her with a nice ring please, don't.  Don’t come with a script because you have a storyline. I just hope she is getting a cut too. Now, that I won't mind if he negotiated an appearance fee for her but still....why can't this dude just marry instead of wife-ing. What security does Joy have that Bow Wow won't just up and go with some other woman.

Anyway Joy is not having any of it, she tells Bow Wow he ain't her man and  she can't confuse her daughter. True. The little girl is starting to  ask complicated questions when Bow Wow keeps hanging around like a Tom Cat. Will she have a little brother or sister? Will Daddy stay. Bow Wow starts to look a little uncomfortable, then she drops the M-word. MARRIAGE. When will daddy marry mummy. Now Bow Wow is real uncomfortable and starts to rub his face. He's probably thinking if the cheque/check is worth this.

In the next scene,  we get Bow Wow on the phone talking to his mentor Jermaine Dupri. Mr Dupri is rattling off the same old same old - you need get your act together blah blah blah, get your behind to the Atlanta.

This is Bow Wow's story line because after all he is headlining this show. He is the star the reason most will watch in the first place, before we discover the messiness of the others. I'm side-eyeing Brandon the Bully here. Anyways Bow Wow knows in order to pick up his check/cheque from the show he needs to tell his Babymomma Joy.

He waits for Joy to drop their daughter and breaks the news to her. That he's leaving to A-Town. She is not impressive. Then she asks him how long he's going for. Well you know a series is about three months to shoot, so he tells her three months.

So Joy is hurt and starts to cry about his move. He just needs to think about a solution to thier situation. I'm like dude marry the woman but I don't think Growing up Hip Hop cheque/check is big enough for him to entertain that..

Joy is like she respects him working hard, respects his hustle, He needs to take  have a  solution to this. He is just going to be partying in Atlanta. Bow Wow is yes that's true but he's going to be getting  PAID. Make some money. You can't fault the guy because that's how most make their side-money in the game. It pays the bills.

Anyway, Joy tells him, he needs to man up and tell his kid he is leaving - she's not doing it this time. He does the baby girl isn't happy. She runs away from him. He’s trying to sell her his move but she aint a happy bunny.

I don't know much about Bow Wow's babymother but she seems a nice, classy type of woman. Not the one to get too horrible but we'll have to wait and see. You know these reality shows can make the classy women act crazy.

26 year old Brandon 'Wannabe Big Man' Barnes brings negative energy to Zonnique's big photoshoot then  Bullies  17 year old Reginae Carter.

I took a view on the scene and decided that indeed Brandon did bully Reginae Carter. Normally I would have said it took two to tango but given the age differences and the way it went down. Nah. One was a 26 year old man, the other a 17 soon to be 18 year old girl. Also she didn't start it, and was just defending her friend.

Brandon did.  He was old enough and grown enough to know Reginae was just a kid shooting off. He also went below the belt bringing in her father. Also if Tiny Harris, Zonnique's mother, was at the shoot, I think he would have never said what he did.

But let's not spoil the story.

So Zonnique invites her vocal coach Brandon Barnes and his cousin Anaya to her photoshoot. Zonnique is experimenting with various styles, and it happened to be the risqué/Booty Magazine Look she was going for when Brandon walked in.

Zonnique has a nice figure and she can carry it off. Not my taste but she needs to follow her vision, and try out different things.  She is 21 and legal.

Big Mouth Brandon starts to criticise the shoot in front of everyone - like the crew, photographers etc, saying Zonnique wasn't dressed right. That's disrespectful. He has no sense of tact. It sucks out all the positivity from the air.  What if Zonnique wasn't confident in herself?  He had no business doing that. First he is only her vocal coach NOT manager, and two, a mature person would have spokenly to Zonnique in private about it.

This is the problem when you are 26 year old and still living with your mama. Brandon is still living under his mother Debra Antey's roof and playing at being a man. He's acting like a 14 year old. Very young.

So rightly Miss Reginae Carter, in defence of her friend,  told him that Zonnique looked cute and he should stop hating. As I've said, Reginae is protective of her close friends and family. Yes, she can be immature at times but Brandon brought it on himself.

Brandon had a slick mouth but Reginae's mouth was slicker - both have no filters- #nofilter. Then Reginae meets Shaniah and Anaya and calls Brandon a hater in front of them. Brandon starts on her, asking why she is there.

She is there to support.

Brandon is like I have a right to be here as a vocal coach, but Reginae also had a right to be there as family support. Brandon goes in on Reginae - they are both shady to each other - it's unnecessary and then Brandon crosses the line saying Reginae should be worrying about what her father said about Black Lives Matter. Reckless talk. Bow Wow is already saying how dangerous the streets of Atlanta is, and this fool is just shooting off.

Okay.

This is a grown 26 year old man. So immature. What does her Reginae's father - Lil Wayne - have to do with it?  This is what happens when a grown man is tied to his mother's apron. If he was a regular normal 26 year with a job he'd have too much respect for himself to be arguing with a 17 year old.

Who does that? She's still a freaking teenager!

Anyway Reginae knows her limitations removes herself from the situation by walking out,  and tells Zonnique what he said. Zonnique is disgusted with Brandon and tells someone to tell him to leave.  I'm not sure if she meant Reginae to tell him, but Reginae was very happy to shout that message across the room. "She wants you to leave," the little madam yelled from the dressing room.

Brandon can't take it so he starts to wind Reginae up again, calling her a wannabe. She comes out saying she doesn't want to sing, she wants to be an actress. He twists her words saying she is half there since she is ACTING UP.  Again Brandon should let it go but no, he wants to fight with a teenager.

His cousin - Regina Lookalike Anaya  warns him to let it go. Apparently she had anger management issues and is known to like fighting folk. She doesn't want to fight on his behalf. Are you kidding me? Would she really deck a 17 year old on behalf of a 26 year old man.  Anaya is 25 years old. What is it with these people? Can't they just ignore Reginae?

Well, Reginae Carter takes him down, asking him who are you? Who have you worked with?

Brandon explodes and comes back with  "I work with someone who could have helped your father’s career." Her father being Lil Wayne. Even I'm shocked. What is wrong with this man or man-child?

RECKLESS TALK AGAIN.

Oh dear, Reginae is stunned, with no comeback, then says he is a nobody and that she can’t be on the show with him. She is also going to tell her mother. Simply saying that shows Reginae that she is just a kid and Brandon is a playground bully.  She doesn't even know how to handle that situation. She is so upset.

Now this is a big problem because Brandon just disrespected one of the most famous rappers. And worse of all someone's father. How? Why? Like did he need to go that low?

Reginae is super upset and walks out saying she was going tell her mother. Her mother was going to handle this. She goes off saying Brandon is a nobody…He needs this (as in the show but so does she)…he is going to have someone beat his face in, he doesn’t know who she is.

As Reginae walks to her truck she rings her mother says her version of events.

Meanwhile back at the photo shoot ....

Shaniah tells the truth about the low blows - she told Brandon he went too low. I think Brandon had started to piss in his pants, the implication of cheque/check his mouth just written is dawning on him though he's fronting...

Reginae Carter tells Mama Toya her on version of events

So Reginae goes home and tell her momma Toya all about Big Bully Brandon. Reginae is still upset but Toya is level headed and tells the little one she'll have a word with his mother. That's some disgrace, that she is going to have a word with his MOTHER not HIM.  Toya seems to be used to Reginae getting into these situations and explains in the confessions that its because Lil Wayne gets criticised a lot so growing up Reginae is overly protective about him. But still it was inappropriate for  Brandon to go in like that. Who does that?

So Toya is level headed and knows that Reginae would have had a part to play however she's still going to sort it out. Reginae is happy her mother has taken her seriously.

Zonnique tells Tiny Harris about Brandon the Bully and Reginae

Zonnique goes home, upset that Reginae was upset. She tells her mother that Brandon was immature and she doesn't even want to hang with him anymore. Also he and his cousin Reginae-Look-a-like Anaya wanted to bully the girl - two against one

Tiny isn't impressed about this situation at all. These guys in their mid-twenties going in for a teenager.  Brandon should have been mature after all she’s only 17 years old.

Makes comments and it goes personal. It’s mean, and low. Back alley tips in a nice big house.

Brandon The Bully uses style to Cry to his Mother Debra Antey

Brandon is running scared - okay he doesn't show it but you know how those rapper roll -  that he's done wrong, so he goes to tell his mother Debra Antey about the situation.  He uses style to approach it with her. First about the photoshoot and then how Reginae Carter needed to be taught manners.

Debra knowing her son asks him more details and he tells her what he said about Lil Wayne. Deb is not impressed and she is angry. It’s not good. Brandon starts fronting saying he wasn't going to appologuse but his momma handles him.

She is worried that Brandon's reckless mouth can get him into dangerous situations, and hurt.

So yes, that't all for this post. I'll be catching up on the others soon.

Thanks for reading.

Growing Up Hip Hop: Atlanta Episode 1 - Bow Wow desperate to be relevant again does a mixtape, Wacka Flacka lil Brandon gets his own piece of reality show pie, Reginae Carter - what can I say? Please just don't shame and judge me for watching...

Hello people,

It's been a long minute! Well it seems Growing Up Hip Hop has down South to Atlanta. And one thing about  ATL, A-Town...Atlanta always delivers when it comes to reality shows. Is there something in the water that makes these guys some different type....I'm loss for words maybe I'll call it crazy. Yes, crazy and raw.

So a new group of Hip Hop celebrity kids desperate for the limelight and fame, have got a part in this franchise and it is messy and popping.

Ya'll know I'm dyslexic and can't spell so please take this as it it.

This is my take on the story in no particular order!

LETS BEGIN WITH THE STAR OF THE SHOW - BOW WOW

So we begins with Bow Wow, who thirsty for grown up fame and the next pay check, and relocating to Atlanta for this messy reality show.

Bow Wow is the star because he HAD a career and after all that fronting on Istagram about private jets and travelling first class - when taking coach - thought still better than greyhound, we know he will do what he needs to do for a pay check.

Also every one know Bow Wow, though he's going by his real name which I forget...Shady Moss or something....

Anyway Bow Wow is telling us about his past, and how big he WAS, and all the women he had SLEPT with. Ciara, Erica Meana (Love & Hip Hop NYC) and some other unmemorable women. Anyway he is now settling in some kinda arrangement in LA with his Babymomma and cute daughter.

However Bow Wow the FATHER stills needs to pay checks to support his family. AND BE CLEAR THAT'S WHY HE'S MESSING WITH THIS FRANCHISE.

So the premise of this episode is Bow Wow drops into Atlanta to release his mix tape.

Now what kind of foolishness is that? I mean who travels that distance for a MIXTAPE release? So you know the man is getting paid for this nonsense,  he needs that cheque so bad he'll go along with this mix tape foolishness. It's not even a single! Shake my head!

So he drops into Atlanta and goes to give his respect to his mentor Jermaine Dupri, and tells him about his mixtape plans. Even Jermaine Dupri shakes his head and asks what all this Mixtape nonsense is. If the Bow Wow wants to make music, then he should MAKE REAL MUSIC. Not this foolishness about mixtape. What the heck is a mixtape in the landscape of music. So Jermaine Dupri tells Bow Wow not to waste his time.

Bow Wow is like all disrespectful about Jermaine Dupri saying it's the man's age. But what Bow Wow is forgetting is he is 29 years old and no spring chicken either. Also Jermaine Dupri is part of Hip Hop history so the man had made his mark. Bow Wow by the sounds of it, will make a fool of himself for a few coins.

Anyway nothing much really happens with Bow Wow apart from all the fuss over some mixtape. Da Brat comes into the mix giving advice but we've heard all that type of advice before 'stop getting distracted and get in the studio' talk so I'm not wasting my time with her.

Now lets move on to the other thirsty characters in the show - I'm writing in no particular order because to be honest these kids are not really relevant.

Zonnique Harris Pullins and Reginae Carter - Lil Wanye Black Lives Matter Drama

These start off as best friends on the show. Zonnique is daughter of TI and Tiny Harris, while Reginae is Lil Wayne and Tonya's daughter.

Zonnique wants to become a star but doesn't want to WORK in the hours. She is pretty but like a mermaid who seems to love stroking her hair and gazing in the mirror. I didn't get a feel for her character. She is only 21 but her makeup and styling makes her seem a lot older than she is.

Maybe a younger looking style where she looks fresh...rather than her mother's younger sister. In this picture she had the freshness of youth

She seems all about shopping, she'll love to be a famous performer but for now she's more interesting in social media and texting her friends. Overall she is bland, boring but likeable.  However she is also pretty sensible and calm which is a credit to her mother and stepdad.

Reginae Carter is an interesting one. She is always sweet spoilt but strong willed, and very protective of her father - and this can cause some problems especially because she is a sheltered and very privileged young woman so she doesn't always understand that in life you pick your battles.

I also think she is very much like her father - outspoken without considering consequences - you know Lil Wayne rolls in his interviews, if you'd ever read any.

So the main drama between these two kick off when Lil Wayne made a comment about Black Lives Matter in an interview and TI went off at him. I saw the interview but given Lil Wayne's background - the man is the Michael Jackson of Hip Hop - he was the wrong person to ask - he doesn't get it and unfortunately doesn't even empathise with the situation.

A lot of people don't understand Lil Wayne has had a very sheltered upbringing. He was a child prodigy of Birdman, he grew up in the studio.

He was discovered at a very early age so he lives in a different world, his own planet. Cash Money planet with all the bodyguards and entourages. Lil Wayne was never the average street cat trying to make it BIG. He probably only mixed with selected associates of Cash Money. His life was making music, touring and probably women. He doesn't get it, he doesn't connect with it and lastly does not empathise with it.

Lil Wayne was so sheltered and Cash Money did everything for him, he doesn't understand that BLM represents most of the young black men and women that buy his music.  These kids looked up to Lil Wayne as someone who made it. They thought he was representing them - now they know otherwise. So someone had to call him out, and TI did so.  TI who is a socially conscious artist, criticised Lil Wayne for the interview. Now, understand this, TI raps about life, struggle and is socially and politically conscious.

And yes, Lil Wayne went to jail, but even there he'd have been a celebrity, not your common jail cat. It's unfortunate because if Lil Wayne empathised with the situation he'd have been measured in his response. And also it depends on what he was on that day....

 It is what it is.

Anyway back to the story....

When the interview comes out, everyone is like 'Oh Lil Wayne had put his foot in it again', and Reginae comes out with a ton of excuses. Anyway TI drops his own response, and both Reginae and Zonnique agree they are going to keep out of. As If.

However Reginae is brewing underneath feeling that she needs to protect her father. Against what, I ask. However thinking about it, Lil Wayne is a big kid. Even to his daughter he seem to act like a big brother rather than a father. Even Tonya said she had to be the bad parent, the one who says no. She's the one who raised Reginae. So you can understand her need to protect her father, even though he doesn't need it.

What Reginae probably didn't understand, though her mother tried to explain to her, was this was beef between two grown men. Two friends, and it would blow over at some point. It would also be disrespectful for her to get involved. She's only 17 years old, very sheltered and doesn't understand a lot about life. Then again, you can understand because her father hasn't really grown up in some terms, he hasn't really drawn a line with where Reginae can get involved, boundaries are blurred so she behaves like a little mama rather than a daughter.

This is the difference between Zonnique and Reginae. TI raised Zonnique, so she knows her father's business is not her business.  Anyway full of hot air, Reginae gives a rude response to TI on social media....so we can expect it to kick off.

WACKA FLACKA'S LITTLE BROTHER BRANDON

We see  Debra Antney is working real hard to get all her babies a pay check on reality shows. Saying that Even Deb had upped her styling game since Love and Hip Hop Altlanta. I'm totally loving her new style. She is one fine woman.

We meet mouthy Brandon Barnes. I'm not sure what Brandon really does, but you know in the Debra Antney nobody is getting a free ride, not even Wacka Flacka.

He is introduced as a vocal coach and seems to be giving Zonnique lessons which she wasn't taking serious. I don't have much to say about Brandon other than he behaves very much like the baby of Antey family. He is very vocal about what he thinks, and I think partly because of his protective mother Deb Antey and big brothers including  Wacka Flacka. So his mouth writes cheques his family cashes.

So because Brandon Barnes knows he's protected in a way, he runs his mouth. Antey and her family don't mess with theirs. So he will be interesting because I know he has a lot to say.

SHANIAH (MAULDIN - JERMAINE DUPRI'S DAUGHTER)

Nice, gracious and sweet. Shaniah looks as if her father begged her to do the show. She just comes over too sensible for this nonsense. She is naturally beautiful, friendly and there is no fakeness. She also seems level-headed and practical. I'm not sure what she's doing on this show. I guess a part of me wonders if her father begged her to be part of it.

She is actually much better with less makeup. Who the heck is stying these girls like middle aged women. Please get a new makeup artist!

ANAYA - DAUGHTER OF A BEASTIE BOY DJ HURRICANE.

She's not really doing anything other than quitting a paid job to LAUNCH her now FASHION LINE. Like the world needs another celebrity child fashion line. She's not really relevant to espisode other than she looks a lot like Reginae Carter and I get them confused.

BACK TO BOW WOW MAKING SOME COINS

So we get back to Bow Wow planning a mixtape release party where he invites the lovely Shaniah. She's not really interested in going, her pops Jermaine Dupri is definitely not interested in her going, but all for the stake of this reality show and giving Shaniah a bigger profile, he agrees after some convincing from Da Brat - that it wasn't going to be held in a gentleman's club. Hm.

Okay, so Bow Wow does some radio publicity and they get a club where all the stars of the show appear. All except Reginae who is underage at 17, and forced to spend a girl's night with her mother. Maybe that's why she got real pissed and did the social media response. After all she may have felt protective about her father, but also pissed she was missing out on a club night. Let me not digress on what I've covered.

So they (except Reginae) all go to this MADE UP mixtape release party. Soulja Boy couldn't be there - he was the collaboration on the mixtape tape. I suspect the show didn't meet his match his appearance fee. These dudes do nothing for free.

It's popping according to Bow Wow. It seems pretty boring to me. Brandon isn't impressed and embarrassed because his mother Deb Antney turns up, saying no one else's parents turned up. Please, Brandon, no one cares what you think.

GANG EX-ASSOCIATES COME TO THE MIX TAPE PARTY

So what's a party without uninvited dubious ex-friends appearing to make trouble? Well a few ex-associates that Bow Wow used to hang with on the street appear at the part. Apparently it seems there may be some trouble going down.

Bow Wow is fronting this is the reason he moved it LA, the streets of Atlanta are dangerous and he is not impressed his ex-associates or ex-friends have made an appearance. I guess everyone is free to enter a club but maybe not his thug-like ex associates.

So guess what happens?

  1. Does Bow Wow say okay, had enough time to leave quietly?
  2. Does Bow Wow ask if everyone is strapped and gunned up ready to battle?
Well, there is the common sense approach, and there is the staking your territory approach. Now I'm not sure how real this was, or maybe it happens so often in Atlanta it seems just a normal thing to do- but it's crazy because Bow Wow went with option 2, asking folks if they were strapped up. CRAZY! Only because he'd told Jermaine Dupri he'd take care of Shaniah, and wouldn't he just be like okay, Da Brat take Shaniah home in case trouble does down tonight.

Oh no. Not at all. Instead they prepare for war. Like if I seen an situation is about to escalate and I can't do anything to diffuse it, I leave it. Maybe that's not the Atlanta way....

I've forgotten what happens after that but it seems an interesting show overall

Thanks for reading.
